Breakfast Smoothies


Happy New Year!

I hope everyone had a wonderful holiday season and if, like me, you're not quite ready to head back to work yet - I think this post might help you out with morning sluggyness. Maybe it's just me but having a really healthy meal makes me feel accomplished (probably because they are rare to come by). So, like many of us, something I want to achieve in 2016 is just better overall health decisions. Receiving a Nutribullet for Christmas is going to really help me accomplish that! So far so good.

I've been using it every day for the past two weeks, and have been experimenting and quickly learning what works for me and what doesn't. Example: I haven't yet found a protein powder that I like the taste of, so therefore I'm finding other ways to get protein in my smoothies like through adding yogurt, almonds, healthy seeds + nuts, or avocados. Something else I've learned is that I prefer smoothies with oranges, pineapples, and bananas because I find these fruits really mask the taste of kale or spinach! Lastly, I always add ground flax seed to my smoothies for fiber.
